Meet the Senior Pastors
David & Alison Flowers
David & Alison Flowers are both from Leeds and live locally in Headingley.
Alison trained as a teacher is now an artist with a studio nearby in Meanwood and is an exhibiting Member of Leeds Fine Artists. Her heart for the church is for people to know that they are accepted and loved - that it is OK for you to be you.
David recently retired from the financial planning business which he established in 1990 and which he recently sold to a local firm. He is a pastor-teacher who is committed to communicating a bible-inspired way to live as followers of Jesus.
Together, David & Alison founded, lead and pastor Leeds Vineyard. They are both paid a part-time salary to do so. David also serves as the Regional Leader for the Vineyards in the North of England. They have two adult sons who live in London.
Their story…
David grew up in a missionary family serving in Bangladesh but returned to Leeds for secondary education. He went on to study Theology at Durham University and has worked in financial services ever since graduating. Alison grew up in Leeds and then went to Bishop Lonsdale College (Nottingham University) to qualify as a primary school teacher. She taught at Alwoodley Primary School and then worked with David in his business for a few years until they started a family. She is an artist by nature and now paints as often as she can, selling regularly at exhibitions and online.
David & Alison moved to London to join the first Vineyard planted in the UK in 1987. They were part of the SW London Vineyard until 1997 when they moved back to Leeds with their two sons, Josh and Sam. They planted Leeds Vineyard (originally known as Wharfedale Vineyard) as a family - you can read more about the history of Leeds Vineyard here.
Under their leadership Leeds Vineyard has planted four other churches (Harrogate, Sheffield, Edinburgh and Bradford).
