Action

Often we read that Jesus had compassion  - Matthew 9:36 “When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them…”. Combined with obedience it seems to be the main driver behind his ministry.

Our hope is to express Jesus' heart of mercy and demand for justice to a broken world.  As a church, we expect the Lord to fill us with his compassion, which means we take action and live out our vision of ministering to the poor in practical ways!

Restored Beacon

We are working towards becoming a Restored Beacon church in 2024. Joining their network of churches across the UK, committed to standing against domestic abuse and supporting survivors in their communities.

The Lantern

Shining a light in the darkness

The Lantern is a space where adults with multiple and complex needs can find friendship, food and faith.

We run The Lantern in partnership with Cornerstone Baptist Church, in the Green House Café.

Tuesday & Wednesdays | 10.30am - 12.30pm
Drop in cafe for fellowship and food

Sundays | 3.30pm - 5.00pm
Two-course hot meal served at 3.45pm, followed by a service at 4.30pm

At the service we sing a song that we can all join in with, such as, ‘You've Got a Friend in Me’, from Toy Story or a well known hymn like ‘Amazing Grace’. Then comes a short talk, sometimes with a dramatised Bible reading, followed by personal prayers at each table, an opportunity for prayer ministry, then closing with the Lord's Prayer and sharing the peace and a Blessing.

Vineyard House Pantry

We have opened a Your Local Pantry in Vineyard House (11 Bennett Road, Leeds, LS6 3HN). At the Pantry, members will pay £4.50 per week and choose more than £15 of food from the products available.

If you answer ‘yes’ to at least one of the following questions, then the Pantry is for you!

Do you ever struggle to pay rent?
Do you ever struggle to pay energy bills?
Do you ever struggle to pay for other essentials?
Have you had to cut back on the amount you spend on shopping in the last three months?
Do you ever run out of money toward the end of the week?
Do you live within a 20-minute walk of LS6 3HN?

Child Contact Centre

What is a Child Contact Centre?

The Child Contact Centre is a safe, friendly and neutral place where children of separated parents can meet their non-resident parent or family member. The centre aims to help children whose parents have separated and where there is no reasonable alternative way for them to spend time with them. It is a child-friendly environment, with toys, games, books and other facilities available.

Many parents have been given the priceless opportunity to spend time with their children, whom they would not be able to see otherwise. To see the joy of the children at meeting with their non-resident parent is special indeed. The services we offer rely on the generous volunteers who give up their time and energy to see lives being changed.

Become a Volunteer

The success of the Centre has meant that demand for the service is increasing as more families are referred to us. The increased demand means that we have more spaces for volunteers, especially more men, so that we can take on more families. Sessions run from 10am to 12pm on alternate Saturdays, and you would volunteer for one Saturday a month. There is also the opportunity to help with fundraising, or by providing a craft, skill, or expertise for the resident parents.

The Child Contact Centre is a project of Leeds Vineyard but welcomes all families and is staffed by volunteers from various places.

Anyone interested in serving in this venture of family restoration please contact Jaime, the Child Contact Centre manager.

You can also visit the website, or sign up to receive the quarterly Newsletter and Secret Angels prayer letter.
