we are joining in with the scene so wonderful painted in Revelation. Let us remind ourselves of his majesty, and rejoice in the fact that the King is here. Revelation tells us to do this, it reminds us of the glory and power of the King on his throne. It’s an encouragement that the King is here.

Sometimes we can take something that is good and from God and turn it into a god - make it an idol. Work is not meant to be worshipped but an act of worship.

Taking the lead from Romans 12, Nik encourages us to see that, to fully worship God, we need to take our everyday, ordinary life - our sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life - and place it before God as an offering.

Our sanctuary needs an altar. Somewhere to sacrifice and allow God to make us holy, clean, ready for him. Facing death and hearing the truth about the hope we have is our altar of sacrifice.

Man's chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy him forever says the Westminster catechism. Psalm 145 is one of many that exhort us to do the same. Why? Does God need our praise?
