nikHope

(Love)...always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
 1 Cor. 13:7

At The Gathering in December, we continued to focus on sharing what Jesus has done in our lives. You can listen to the talk again here.

At last month's Gathering, we talked about being prepared to give an answer to all who ask about our hope in Jesus. This month we focussed on what that hope is.

A definition of hope:

"It's like an army, completely outnumbered, fighting with their last ounces of strength. They have been told that help is on the way; they just need to hold on until it gets there.
Each time they look to the horizon, it is with Hope that they will see the promised reinforcements. And when those reinforcements arrive, that is the fulfilment of Hope."

Hope is what we cling on to most when there’s nothing else to hold on to.
When we ask ourselves "what is our hope?", Jesus is the answer.

"The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim
good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the
prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free,
to proclaim the year of the Lord's favour…
…Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing."

  Luke 4:18-21

As we go out and share our lives with those around us, we need Him to come, through the power of His Holy Spirit, to make those words of promise come alive as a living, breathing expression of hope in our lives

The Gathering is every third Sunday of the month, at the Vineyard Centre, 7.30pm.
All are welcome - come as you are!
