Yorkshire Art (iPad/iPhone)
David Hockney interview on iPlayer.... There was an inspiring interview last Sunday evening on the TV, which may be worth looking up on BBC iPlayer (probably only available till Saturday - so last chance). It was on CountryFile (Sunday BBC1 at 6pm ish) with artist David Hockney (in two 10 minute segments), regarding his work in East Yorkshire, shortly to be exhibited in the Royal Academy of Art in London http://www.royalacademy.org.uk/exhibitions/hockney/

Very interesting thoughts about an artist's perspective, for example, looking harder at the world around you and revisiting the same spots over and over, in different seasons, light and weather (like I do with my camera). This interview also highlights some work in modern media (iPhone & iPad) and some fantastic stuff with moving digital cameras - moving up a road through the seasons - http://www.hockneypictures.com/current.php

I also particularly like his flower drawings on iphone and ipad (on display in canada)
http://www.rom.on.ca/hockney/ - you can even download a complimentary flower picture !
I think he uses the 'brushes' app - not that I have either device, given my aversion all things 'Apple'

I understand that some of this iPad art is on show in the projection room at Salts Mill in Saltaire, Bradford (admission free) http://www.saltsmill.org.uk/ - might give this a go on the 5th Weekend !
