Update from Sam Lewis (Project Manager) about our Planning Application for Vineyard House

Last month we submitted the planning application for Vineyard House. This is another key milestone for this amazing project, which will see the beautiful grade II listed St Michael’s Hall building, transformed into a brilliant new community space.

Vineyard House will have meeting spaces, a large venue space, offices, and a prayer room. It will provide a space for kids and youth activities, as well as providing a base for the church’s growing number of compassion ministries.

The formal planning application for Vineyard House marks the end of the work that Stephen Dixon (Architect) and the Project Team have been doing to research the history of the building and come up with ideas, concepts and outline designs for the refurbishment. With input from experts and a period of community consultation and engagement these designs were updated and refined, and around Easter 2019 we submitted our pre-planning application for Vineyard House.

Further updates followed, along with more detailed designs, and last month we submitted our planning application to Leeds Council – click here to view, and enter the planning application number 19/06075/LI.

What’s Next?

We welcome prayers for the planning process as it goes through the various departments of Leeds City Council, for positive discussions on any points raised and ultimately for a positive outcome.

We are looking to renovate Vineyard House in phases. We have already started working on plans for Phase 1, which we hope to progress further once planning permission has been granted. Keep reading our blog updates to find out more.
